This business is always about profit margin in a hyper-competitive industry.  Staying ahead of those that would undercut us because they can afford to.  They don’t carry insurance, they don’t have employees or do, but pay them cash.  They don’t pay sales tax.  Every penny they earn, they keep.

This business is always about cleaning.  Making sure our customers’ homes are cleaned and shined.  Scrubbed and polished.  Vacuumed, dusted and mopped, so that they have more time to do what they want, instead of having to clean it themselves.

But, sometimes it is about so much more.  Sometimes it is about hope, and faith and strength.  Like when we are Cleaning for a Reason, cleaning the homes of women undergoing cancer treatment.  Going through a hell that far too many know, with worries far beyond our meager concerns, they manage to be grateful and hopeful.  While they think we are giving them a gift, they give us so much in return.

And sometimes, if we are lucky,

and all the pieces fall into place,

sometimes, this business can be about giving a mother and child something to smile about at bath time.

We love our business.  Do you love what you do?

  1. Great post, great message and I love the pics. 🙂

  2. Awww. Sometimes my job involves dealing with people in poor health too, and I need to find more nuggets like this to spread around. Thanks for the smile.

  3. As always…an awesome post and a reflection of a truly caring company!

  4. Great Post, and many points made about our industry. As with any business, we are always trying to compete with those who are not doing business the “legal” way. I love what I do, and am proud to say that my business is thriving even with the competition that surrounds my service areas. Bottom line is the customer who uses the unlicensed, uninsured companies will eventually return to the quality businesses we all operate because of our excellent service and caring we provide to our customers. I, like you will continue to provide free cleaning services for those who truly need it as well. That always makes my life seem so small in comparison to what these women are going through.

  5. Thank you all for the kind words. You encourage and support and inspire me.
